I hand tooled the design onto a piece of heavy weight veg tanned leather. I left it natural in color, but did apply a clear acrylic finish on top to help protect the leather. The bottom is unfinished and will absorb any liquids so please be careful.
This coaster measures 3.5" by 3.5" and is about 1/8" of an inch thick. The shape is octagonal and fits well with any decor.
I originally designed these leather coasters to be used with a coffee mug, but I have found that these work well with cold beverages too. Just as long as the glass isn't too wet from condensation. The water won't hurt the leather, but it might discolor the clear finish and stiffen the leather. If it does get wet, let it dry for a day or so, and gently flex it to soften it up.
